What's new: render raw HTML and choose a capture region
Two new request options - send HTML instead of a URL, and pin captures to a geographic region for localized content.
Two additions to the capture API this month.
Render HTML directly
You can now send markup instead of a URL. The html field accepts raw or base64-encoded HTML up to 1MB and is mutually exclusive with url.
{
"html": "<html><body><h1>Invoice #1042</h1></body></html>",
"format": "pdf"
}This is ideal for generating images and PDFs from templates you already render server-side - social cards, invoices, certificates - without hosting them anywhere first.
Choose a region
The new region option picks where the browser runs: auto (the default), us-east, us-west, eu-west, eu-central, asia-east and more.
{ "url": "https://example.com", "region": "eu-central" }Use it when a site serves different content, prices or consent banners by location, or when you need captures to originate from a specific jurisdiction.
Also in this release
- The dashboard Playground supports both options, and its code generator includes them.
- Both fields are part of the cache key, so cached results never mix regions or templates.
Full details are in the API reference.
